Collegiate Gear Galore is proud that all of our collegiate products are officially licensed by the CLC and the LRG, Inc. (CLPA).
ABOUT THE CLC:
The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) is the nation's leading collegiate trademark licensing and marketing company, assisting collegiate institutions in protecting, managing and developing their brands.
The mission of the CLC is to be the guiding force in collegiate trademark licensing and one of the top sports licensing firms in the country. As such, the CLC is dedicated to being a center of excellence in providing licensing services of the highest quality to its member institutions, licensees, retailers and consumers.
Founded in 1981, the CLC is the oldest and largest collegiate licensing agency in the nation and currently represents nearly 200 colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, The Heisman Trophy and the NCAA (including the Men's and Women's Final Four, the College World Series and all NCAA Championships).
ABOUT THE LRG, INC. (CLPA):
The Licensing Resource Group (LRG) was founded in May of 1991 by individuals who combined their experience from different parts of the licensing industry to create an alternative approach to traditional management techniques. Over the years, the LRG has proved to be an aggressive company who has brought many new concepts to the forefront of the licensing industry and made them successful.
The Collegiate Licensed Properties Association (CLPA) is a non-profit organization made up of colleges and universities who manage their own licensing program, or partner with the Licensing Resource Group (LRG) for trademark management services.
These institutions have come together to create the CLPA Authentication Program, which is designed to protect legitimate licensees from unlicensed and counterfeit products. The CLP labels and hangtags are "Optically Variable Devices," which combines several imaging techniques into a single image to create the high level of security found in the CLP labels. Because of these security features, licensees will no longer be allowed to print or produce their own CLP labels.
